PARC is a new and progressive community center for
arts exploration. It is a place where people of all
ages and backgrounds can not only observe, but
participate in a wide range of artistic genres. PARC
is designed to be a center for many existing
non-profit arts-based organizations.
PARC's Mission Statement:
The Public Arts Resource Center Inc.(PARC), a
501(C)(3) non-profit, is committed to providing
innovative participatory arts based programs to
individuals, organizations and communities. PARC',s
inclusive environment will inspire participants to
discover their artistic potential in a manner that
encourages life long learning through the arts. By
collaborating with existing artisitic, technological
and educational organizations PARC and its
associates will gain fiscal strength resulting in
the creation of new artistic experiences for
Berkshire residents.
PARC's Logo:
PARC chose this symbol (a "kokopelli") because it
represented the starting of something new, something
newly created, new ideas, new innovations, etc.
It was appropriate since it encompassed what we are
trying to do to tie in all of the arts under one
umbrella.
A "kokopelli" is the humpbacked flute player,
mythical symbol of fertility, replenishment, music,
dance, and mischief.
