The
Eagles Brass Ensemble has performed for over 10 years
now. It experiences rather flexible membership, at times
having as many as 14-16 members. Our largest turnouts
occur for the yearly holiday concert that we perform at
the Berkshire Mall on the 3rd Saturday of December.
The ensemble consists of trumpets, horns, baritones,
trombones, and tubas. The music selections range from 4
or 5 parts to 10 parts depending on the number of
available performers and the musical arrangements.
Musical styles range from traditional brass pieces to
contemporary and pop arrangements. Degree of difficulty
of the music varies depending on the membership of the
group at the time. We like to play music that is fun and
to challenge ourselves from time to time so as to grow
as an ensemble.
Performances include concert appearances with the
Eagles Wind Symphony, solo appearances at Pittsfield
First Night celebrations, open houses at the Berkshire
Eagle, birthday parties, weddings, the lighting of the
Christmas tree in Park Square, holiday carols at the
Berkshire Museum, and other special events.
Rehearsals are often held from 6pm-7pm Monday
evenings and occasionally on Saturday mornings. Our
rehearsal and performance schedule are rather flexible
due to the types of performances we give and the demand
for them.
The Eagles Brass Ensemble is always looking for
performers. We especially need trombone and tuba
players. If you are interested in joining the Brass
Ensemble, please contact Deanna Fraher, Eagles Band
Brass Ensemble director, at 518-877-6130 ()
or by contacting Dick Paul, Eagles Band Manager at
413-499-2071 ().
